Executive Volunteers

The following Executive Volunteer positions are available for parade day. Please read the description of each position before applying.

This very important team is for adults only. This team will assist in managing the assembly area, dispersal area, and various other operational areas of the parade. Use the password - TURKEY - below to register for the Executive team. Please note: this team will be smaller than in past years, as we are restructuring the program.

Important

In order to fully know your job on parade day, we are requiring all Executive Volunteers to attend a zoom meeting for their role. Assignments will be sent out the last week of October for all Executive Volunteers.



Executive Volunteer Descriptions in Brief


ASSEMBLY TEAM

The Assembly Team is an important group of individuals who assist the Assembly Coordinator in directing arriving parade elements on parade day to their appropriate positions in the Assembly Area.

BALLOON COORDINATOR

The Balloon Coordinator is responsible for coordinating balloon inflation, communicating with the contracted balloon vendor[s], helium vendor[s], Balloon Captains, and balloon deflation. This position is by invite-only.

BALLOON CAPTAIN

As a Balloon Captain you will be expected to manage a group of volunteers during the assembly of the parade, the line-of-march and balloon deflation. A Balloon Captain will need to be able to walk the 1.8 mile long parade route.

BAND COORDINATOR

The Band Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Band Captains and directs the unloading/positioning of bands in the Assembly Area. This position is invite-only.

BAND CAPTAIN

As a Band Captain, you will be asked to act as a “welcoming voice” for the entire Philadelphia region! Your task is to make them feel comfortable and welcome in our region and to meet them in the Assembly Area on parade day. A Band Captain must be able to walk the 1.8 mile long parade route.

DISPERSAL TEAM

The Dispersal Team is responsible for coordinating the timely flow of elements as they exit the Telecast Area, and onto their waiting vehicles and also assist in parking buses prior to the start of the parade in the dispersal area.

FLOAT CAPTAIN

As a Float Captain, you will be expected to manage a group of volunteers during the assembly of the parade, the line-of-march and the dispersal area. A Float Captain must be able to walk the 1.8 mile long parade route.

HOTEL OPERATIONS TEAM

This team is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all volunteers who report to The SONESTA Hotel costuming facility on Thanksgiving Day. Most SONESTA Hotel Operations Team volunteers will be finished on Parade Day by 10:00AM. This year we will be combining both hotels and have ALL volunteers meeting at the SONESTA Hotel.

HOTEL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

This position over-sees all hotel operations at the SONESTA Hotel on Parade Day. This position is by invite-only.

SPECIAL UNIT COORDINATOR

The Special Unit Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all Special Units and Special Units Captains in the Assembly Area and down the parade route. This position is by invite-only.

SPECIAL UNIT CAPTAIN

The Special Unit Captain is responsible for assisting in the positioning of Special Units in the Assembly Area. A Special Unit Captain must be able to walk the 1.8 mile long parade route.

VOLUNTEER AREA OPERATIONS TEAM

The Volunteer Area Operations Team will be responsible for greeting parade volunteers at the end of the parade route. They will accept costumes, help distribute lunches, and direct volunteers to the shuttle buses at the end of the parade route that will return volunteers to Love Park. Volunteers then can walk from Love Park to their vehicles or public transportation.
